The fox face emoji is very similar to the wolf face emoji except that it is always depicted as a very striking and noticeable orange-red color! Most versions give it a slightly more cartoon-y than lifelike appearance, and some – Facebook, for instance – even give it a subtle smile. Only the head is visible and it often has a white muzzle and a suggestion of white in its pointed ears. In a literal sense it represents foxes and wildlife. More broadly it can be used in reference to topics as broad as hunting and urban living. A number of maxims and sayings use the image of a fox, and the emoji can be used to suggest someone is shrewd, foxy or sneaky, depending on the context!

This emoji was first introduced in Unicode 9.0 on 21st June, 2016 which was followed by addition to Emoji 3.0 in the same month and featured in September, 2014 iOS 10 update. Fox Face emoji appeared on iOS 10.2, Android 7.0, EmojiOne 2.2.4 for the first time.
